Alcohol-free mouthwash burned the tip of my tongue, why?

I found your question from searching about this topic, because I'm having the same kind of trouble. I've been using Listerine and suspect that is the cause of my burning too. What I've found out is that a lot of people are switching to Crest Pro-Health because of that (it's non-alcohol-based), and yet are having different problems with it. You can do a search for 'crest pro-health mouthwash complaints' to see what all they are. Also, I've found that if you do a good job brushing and flossing, you may not really need to use mouthwash, but that if you still want to, then dilute some in a cup with water first. Alternatively, there is a good new product called EvoraPlus, that you take after brushing your teeth (it's like a little mint). It contains probiotics, which work to chase off the bad bacteria in your mouth.
