I was shocked to find 2 verses in Quran ordering wife beating!! Anyone has an interpretation?

Ah but Islam is the religion of peace, goodwill and love for all of Allah's creation so when the Holy Qu'ran says beat your wife it clearly means do not beat your wife - simples!
