Regulations on dating/marrying an officer in another branch of service?

Im army enlisted. Friend of mine is air force officer. we have dated before I joined the army, broke up after I joined. And we have talked about getting married. What are the regulations? Is it possible? He says its not...and he has stopped talking to me because he still loves me and its "illegal" so what is really going on??
