Adding sugar to 10 month old baby home made food..?

I have never been doing so, until 2 weeks back when he fell sick with diarrhea (owing to the anti biotic he has been taking for fever) and vomitting...(owing to a bad cough)...I have since been giving him arrowroot porridge so as to alleviate the diarrhea...I have been adding small quantities of sugar since the porridge is absolutely tasteless.... prior to tht I have been sweetening his food using fruits like banan/apple... but currently not doing so since he completely throws up when I offer those fruits... Is it ok to add sugar at this stage? It would be temporary until I start adding fruits to his food to make it sweet... he does not eat unsweetened/bland foods...:-(

My boyfriend and I went to dinner at a Honduran restaurant last night (he's Honduran, Im white). The service was THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE. The waitress kept pawing my boyfriend and kissing him, and hanging all over him, mind you my boyfriend doesnt even know her, then she completely bulldogged me and would'nt even serve me my drink (I ordered a mango margarita) he ordered a beer (she served him right away) Now girls, how would you feel if this were you? What would you do? It took her about 45 minutes to bring me my drink after he received hers. The place wasnt even crowded. Pretty amazing. Mind you, I was THE ONLY WHITE GIRL in the place, which didnt bother me, up until last night, I didnt used to be prejudice, but I just might be now. Not only that, but it took like an hour to bring me some simple chicken soup, which really wasnt very good, almost tasteless. I have to say, I was always told that hispanic woman are jealous of white women, especially when we are with they're men. I love my boyfriend more than anything, its too bad that they women like that are so insecure because of they're ethnicity, I think its very sad how they are always trying to make me jealous and trying to stress and spite me that way, very sad on theyre part. I'm coming out of a bad childhood and i have all sorts of issues now...How do I deal with this?

I am a 20 year old female by the way.Things were good for me until about the age of eight when my family moved to Florida. I had three older brothers at this point, two of which were becoming more and more rebellious during their early teens. They brought drugs and porn into my household, and introduced my family to tasteless "hip hop" music, all of which i was exposed to at an early age and could not fully understand. Our neighbors all hated my family because of my brothers, so therefore i did not have many neighborhood kids to play with. Also we moved around a lot so it was hard to maintain friends . The cops were showing up at my house at least a few times a month because of domestic violence issues, drugs, or some other problem. My brothers would get high on whatever they could find, come home in the middle of the night and start fights with each other and with my parents. They would also vandalize the house by breaking windows, punching doors, breaking stuff...etc. Both of my parents were working full time so they could not be there to control what went on in my home.These situations were all traumatizing to me....i cannot stand the sound of screaming and yelling or the sight of violence because it reminds me of those times in my childhood. Random people would be coming in and out of my house all hours of the day and night to buy and do drugs. So this type of living situation persisted into my pre-teen years, which were some of the hardest for me. I began to have problems with anxiety and depression. I remember being like eleven years old and praying to god that i would die in my sleep because I hated my life so much. Because of all the stress i was dealing with at home i fell behind quite a bit in school and since my parents were working full time, they could not be there to discipline me to do my work, this caused me to have to repeat 6th grade. Around the age of thirteen my parents and myself moved into an apartment without my brothers and things were calmer, but i was still having emotional problems that just got worse...I began cutting myself, and i'm not talking about little scratches. These cuts are deep, and i still struggle to hide my scars. I am 20 years old now. I though about suicide a lot, i had problems with my peers. I would bully people and be bullied. I did not care about school either. I ate a lot, mostly out of boredom so i gained weight. I hated myself. No confidence whatsoever. During all of this at the age of 14 my family got a call that my third brother Peter, the only good one, had been killed in a boating accident. He was the only one i had anything in common with. We both liked art and the same music, he was quiet and shy like me. We were friends as well and brother and sister. After my brother died i continued to struggle with my depression and anxiety and was still cutting myself, but a few good things started happening for me. I made some really good friends in my last year of middle school and was able to stay in the same high school for four years and maintain my friends. The high school i went to specialized in the arts, so i felt very luck for that opportunity because during this time i realized my passion for art. I also improved my grades in school, but since i missed out on some very basic things it was hard to catch up and still is. Those four years when i was in high school were my best so far and i have my friends to thank for it...Even though during that time i dealt with anxiety and some depression, my friends distracted me from it and i stopped cutting myself. I did not get into the florida schools i wanted to go to and i did not want to go to community college so i went out of state to Tennessee where a lot of my relatives live. I was devastated to leave my friends and still am, but was hopeful about making new ones. Since coming to Tennessee, it did not take long for me to realize that i do not like it here. For one, I am having a very hard time making friends....also, my depression and anxiety have come back ten times worse than i ever remember. I am having thoughts of suicide, I feel so alone. My anxiety had turned into more of social anxiety. I feel inferior to everyone and like everyone is happy while i am not. I cannot relate to anyone, and shoot myself down constantly because of my looks, weight, lack of intelligence..I also have a hard time opening up to people, especially about my childhood. I feel like when i tell someone how things were for me, they cannot relate, and then i regret telling them. That's always how it is for me. I refuse to take medication because it stifles creativity, and most of the time i feel like art is all i have...I'm having a hard time summoning up the courage to talk to a therapist because of my anxiety (and i just hate talking about myself). Anyways, I'm starting to look back on my childhood and trying to figure out how those experiences are effecting the way i am today....sorry i wrote so much..i

I would look at your cooking technique. Some things loose flavour if over cooked and others need a longer slower cook for the flavours to develop. For example I would cook a tomato based sauce for at least 45mins to have any flavour in it at all, yet you say you add the tomatoes at the end. I think you are not allowing time for the flavours to develop properly. You need to cook things like tomato sauce for a lot longer and a lot slower.

Guys in relationships: Would you be angry at your GF for being on a diet?

Hes being unfair to a point. Theres nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself with a diet. BUT!!!.. if the diet your doing is starving yourself then it is completely wrong. From what i see though you have a good diet plan. Where I'd side with him is that I like every other guy, have a sense of accomplishment and pride when we do something thats out of the ordinary to win your aproval (IE the bread). Its a primal thing. The "who should cook what" argument can be settled simply by this, by maybe making a main meal and a little bit larger salad. If you make a main meal and salad he can have his meal while still trying some salad, which you can eat as a main course.

Last nights ending was one of the most depressing episode in the history of south park. What is wrong with this dog?

One of my friends dog, Kenny, is having a health issue. For some reason, he is always urinating in the house. He is potty-trained and he usually let's you know when he has to go outside, but Kenny will just pee in the house without telling you. Also, he's getting very thin that you can see his ribs, but trust me, he eats A LOT! That dog loves to eat. I am there all the time and I see that they feed him regularly. I'm 18 and i was wondering when you join the army or any branch in the military, after training, ect. do they give you a gun to carry around? or something, cause i thought you had to be atleast 21 to carry a gun? and since your in the military, do they give you a license to carry a deadly weapon?

Cake came out heavy..?

i need to make an 10inch 18th birthday cake and I have tested making a Swiss roll recipe which just included the eggs, sugar and flour. Annoying windows guitar sound?

A really annoying and disturbing sound is coming from my computer all the time and I have no idea, why. It's nothing like one of the 'Windows sounds', more like aggressive and energetic, tasteless guitar music, a small fragment of it. It just keeps repeating after every 2-3 minutes and makes it impossible to listen to the music, which makes me very pissed off and unproductive employee, and surely that will lead to global crisis. How can I stop having this stupid nightmare?

Okay so before a few years ago I was visiting my uncle at his house w/my family and he popped in that zombie movie where they're at the mall trying to get away from zombies. It didn't affect me at all at the time (I was freaked out afterwards but I didn't have any dreams about it and I was back to normal the next day). Then a few years later I was at his house & really was not in the mood to watch anything scary/gross/anything like that. Like I don't feel like watching someone get their eye sockets pushed in by someone's thumbs and see it. Like at the time I was in the mood where that is like class-less & tasteless why would anyone want to watch anything so evil. There was nowhere else in the house for me to go for 2 hours & plus he had the volume like all the way up. (& I've seen that movie at my friend's house before when I was 15 but for some reason it didn't affect me at all then either). So I couldn't get the images out of my mind or the disgusting feelings, I've had like 5 nightmares since (& I haven't had nightmares where I literally feel scared in them since I was like 14) of zombies & being literally scared that they're everywhere & not knowing if I'm going to be killed by them. I've dreamt I was at a mall & there was a barricade/gate and on both sides there were people & thinking I got on the right side but then not knowing if I chose the wrong side & the people wouldn't let you back over on the other side & then the department stores closed their gates & that led to being able to get outside but they wouldn't let anyone in the gates but they didn't know if there were zombies in there anyway, I've dreamt that I had to kill zombies with shovels, I dreamt zombies were literally chasing me down the stairs to the parking lot & me getting in my car w/my uncle in the car & then not knowing if he had gotten bitten & then wondering what I'm going to do next, like literally feeling the whole world was turning to zombies. & I haven't seen that movie in 7 months and last night I had a dream that I was shopping & my old friend was a left over zombie still alive crouched in the corner & was about to get me.

Whats up with watermelons. When I was a kid you could go to the grocery store and buy these huge football shaped watermelon's that weighed about 4-5lbs and were so dang good & sweet tasting you'd always stuff your face til you were about to explode. Is it possible to hate the taste of water?

I've heard people say they hate water because it's tasteless, but surely if it's tasteless, you can't hate it because if you hate it, you mean the taste (which is non-existent, apparently.) Some people hate it because of the aftertaste. You always have water in your mouth, so you're used to it and some people say it tastes vile... Water's in so much that we eat and drink so how can one hate it? I think it's impossible to hate the taste of water. I might be wrong but I can't see why anyone would hate it..

All of that food is fine as long as you don't eat 3 servings at a time. Have you ever tried flavored almonds? They are amazing and are more filling than those types of snacks, but at the same time those are not really junk food because they are not fried. With regards to ice cream, it is just frozen sugarier, creamier, and fattier version of milk. I personally take chocolate milk and put it in the freezer for 20-30 minutes. It tastes like a milkshake.

I can't speak for most of those things, but.....wearing an eagle feather bonnet if you haven't earned it is disrespectful and offensive. Eagle feathers are sacred to us, and awarded on merit. Each one represents an act of courage or sacrifice. The right to wear such a bonnet is only bestowed on someone after a long period of proving themselves. To wear it as a fashion accessory, or a costume, is to make fun of something we hold very sacred and honorable. We're kind of used to people not understanding our culture and heritage, but it is still very distasteful. You can wear moccasins all you like. they're simply shoes, nothing special about that. But people who flaunt eagle feathers, who haven't been awarded them....well, it would kind of be like me wearing a copy of the congressional medal of honor, because I thought it was a pretty design. Remove taste of lubricant grease from coffee machine?

I recently had my LaPavoni Europicola machine serviced. It needed all it's seals replaced and the technician also greased several of the metal pieces in the milk-frothing mechanism. Problem is, now everything that comes out of the machine (water, coffee, milk) smells and tastes like lubricating grease! The machine was serviced by a reputable specialist, so they presumably used food-grade grease (which I thought was supposed to be odourless and tasteless). I've rinsed the machine through with several full cisterns of water, but the nasty taste and smell remains. Any suggestions? (also posted in household maintenance and repairs)

Apparently the adjuster noticed then that the roof was not proper since it had asphalt shingles over wood shingles because that's the only time anyone has examined the roof. The roof was installed as part of the purchase agreement and it was my understanding the roof had been totally replaced. It was not and I now know that to be the fact. Last Friday, 30 days ahead of the end of my homeowners insurance policy year, I got a notice of non-renewal because the roof was not correct and because the trees need to be trimmed. I don't understand why they didn't mention to me that the roof needed attention as soon as they knew, for one thing. Now, since they have sent this notice of non-renewal, I am unable to know if they will continue my coverage if and when the new roof is put on and the trees are trimmed. My agent won't tell me. I have not missed any payments of premiums for over 20 years. I'm just really do not know what to do now. I would really appreciate knowing from someone who really knows what's going on and I'd appreciate knowing some options. Can anyone help me with this?

if your wood chipper has an intake 6 inches wide I doubt very much that it will take 5 inch branches the maximum diameter would probably be an inch maybe an inch and a half . To chip a branch 1 1/2 inces thick will probably take about a minute a foot but it may cause the motor to overheat and cut out if it is continually chipping that kind of thickness. Don't forget the intake is only six inches wide because trees and bushes rarely grow with a single straight stem so the intake allows for the rough trimming of branches and the feeding of a single stem with lots of small offshoots.If you try and put anything larger than 11/2 inches in your chipper it will probably jam and may burn out

I am an owner builder and I am currently working on plumbing for my house. I have taken a class at a community college so I kinda know what I am doing but I have run into a dilemma. What I have read in my Stanley Plumbing book is that I do not need to give my refrigerator or my dishwasher their own water supply lines but rather can branch off the sink supply lines assuming I am only installing one sink, dishwasher and refrigerator in the kitchen (which I am). My question is: "Is that the best way to go?" I am worried that this may result in low water pressure in my sink when either the ice maker or the dishwasher is running. Like Raj says, there's nothing in it which triggers our taste receptors. I think we've also kinda evolved to find water tasteless so as to ensure, broadly speaking, we can't dislike it. Im only 18 and still don't get why kids do not respect their parents or anyone else for that matter. I honestly think times have changed for the worst. I recently had my LaPavoni Europicola machine serviced. It needed all it's seals replaced and the technician also greased several of the metal pieces in the milk-frothing mechanism. Problem is, now everything that comes out of the machine (water, coffee, milk) smells and tastes like lubricating grease! The machine was serviced by a reputable specialist, so they presumably used food-grade grease (which I thought was supposed to be odourless and tasteless). What Country Sangers Got You In Country Music?

I think country music was on the radio in the room when I was born! I grew up going to the Louisiana Hayride in Shreveport, LA and listening to the Grand Ole Opry on the radio. I was fortunate at a very young age to see the Carter family, Hank Williams, Sr and Jim Reeves. As a teenager, Jim Reeves was my favorite. After he died in late summer of 1964 I continued to be a fan of his recordings until the later part of the 60's when a young Texas singer first hit my country music radar screen: Gene Watson. Gene was a huge favorite regionally around Houston, TX and when I would visit my cousins there we often went to see Gene and his band (which was not called the Farewell Party Band at the time). It came as no surprise to me when Gene's talent hit the big time in the mid-70's and although I have never been a huge fan of his first big hit, "Love In The Hot Afternoon", I did like the release just prior to that of "Bad Water". "Where Love Begins", "Farewell Party", and "Got No Reason Now For Going Home" have been life long favorites. While I like "Paper Rosie" and "14 Carat Mind", they are not usually on my list of favorite Gene Watson songs. The fact that Gene Watson is still singing and recording traditional country music is amazing to me all these years later. His 2009 album "A Taste Of The Truth" is a treasure and it's hard to pick a favorite from that album but if I had to, I'd say it's "I Know An Ending". His newest release with Rhonda Vincent "Your Money And My Good Looks" has 11 of the greatest country duets I've heard since Conway and Loretta! So here I am in my mid-60's and I'm still a Gene Watson music fan!

What I've found out is that a lot of people are switching to Crest Pro-Health because of that (it's non-alcohol-based), and yet are having different problems with it. Also, I've found that if you do a good job brushing and flossing, you may not really need to use mouthwash, but that if you still want to, then dilute some in a cup with water first. will he? I doubt it. Should he? I believe so. Yes he threw more picks than touchdowns, but Terry Bradshaw was like 3 picks from doing so also and he was a first ballot HOFer. I would say Stabler is the 3rd best qb of the 70s behind Roger Staubach and Terry Bradshaw, ahead of Fran Tarkenton (who is a hall of famer), because Stabler has a super bowl victory (which was against Tarkenton ironically). I thought it was very descriptive of the details and created a scenario I could see in my head and almost experience with my senses. You gave enough detail but did not overdue it to the extent of boredom. When people read fiction they want the experience of feeling like they are there. Just keep finding descriptions of detail that triggers the readers senses. Like right now I am thinking of chocolate! I can see it, smell it and taste it though I have not even bought it yet:) Just keep in mind it is easier to make the reader experience something they have actually experienced. When it comes to something less common, pay special attention to the key details to make it come alive. Your little excerpt here scores an A+ in my book!!

I am a PV2 in th United States Army and upon arriving to my unit I did not pass my DIAGNOSTIC p.t. test. Does my NCO have the authority to tell me I cannot play football after I get off work on my own time? If you had a soldier whom you thought was struggling physically reguardless of his or her oustanding scores in the past, would you force them to stop getting in better shape by making them quit the sports they are involved in? I know he cannot physically force me to stop, but I really would appreciate an army regulation I could show my first line NCO to show him that he needs to realize the extent of his authority.

In a way, there sort of already is a rating system, isn't there? Books are categorized into Children's, Young Adult, and then just plain Adult. I'm sure you wouldn't find the book that you picked up in the Children's or YA sections (unless it was put there by accident). And I actually don't think that even *those* "ratings" should exist. It limits the books, and especially people's perceptions of the book. But anyway, an even more detailed rating system such as the one you're describing could be beneficial, but somehow I feel like it would "de-class" literature. You know? Bring it all down to the level of pop-culture, with movies and video games. (And even then, there are definitely lots of movies out there which are absolutely pieces of art.)
